Setup and operate a variety of machining equipment per specified procedures. Position non-preset and preset tooling in machine, position and adjust fixturing, and prepare ancillary equipment. Make preliminary dimensional and visual evaluations using various inspection tools, preparing the process for production. Make offsets and evaluate cutting tool performance to meet specifications and control process variations. Maintain accurate records of part dimensions, SPC charts and process events. Interpret SPC charts and inspection reports to assess process performance and make appropriate changes. Read part program and alter simple instructions, i. e.; speeds, feeds, depth of cut, chamfers, etc. as required per specified process parameters. Perform basic maintenance and routine housekeeping duties to the machines and associated equipment. Report malfunctions of equipment and process deviations.

Basic Qualifications

Understanding of and competence in technology equivalent to 5 years CNC machining operations experience in a high volume micro-machining environment or that gained through a technical institute or certification from a technical institute, including all related mathematics, communication and physical skills. Ability to identify and perform modifications to equipment, machines and devices within the limits of standard methods and procedures. Must have demonstrated a level of knowledge and competence to set up, operate and troubleshoot manual and CNC lathes, mills, screw machines and machining centers. Ability to operte screw machines, (both manual and CNC) and related machine shop equipment. Understand SPC and ability to utilize various measuring gages. Ability to work from and read blueprints, follow operating procedures, and complete required paperwork. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Understanding of and competency in technology equivalent to 0-2 years of CNC machining experience in a high volume micro-machining environment, and/ or experience gained through a technical institute supporting this competency. This includes all related mathematics, communication and physical skills, required to perform the duties encompassed in the position.

Physical Demands

Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at machines or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i. e. up to 30 lbs). May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). Occasional exposure to potential for minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
